The 40 series Echomap Plus models should really be called a Striker Deluxe. There’s no WiFi or Bluetooth, no access the Garmin App (Active Captain), no mirroring on another device, no downloading maps, etc. It’s missing many of the real Echomap features. If you buy this, you aren’t getting a great small form chartplotter. You’re getting a bargain bin unit with a few upgrades.
Watch the their videos, but go shop elsewhere. West Marine is the worst on-line shopping experience I ever encountered. Going in to their stores, they will take your named phone number regarding a complaint but you will never hear from them. They will fade away by the way of the dinosaurs …
